It was the idea of Berlin radiologist PD Dr. Rainer Röttgen and his colleagues:
The world-famous discoverer of X-rays, to whom we all owe so much, was to be placed as a transparent, illuminated bust in an antique display case in front of their radiologie practice on Ku’damm.
To realize this, we were commissioned to print the #bust in 3D.
We used a 3D scan that was created a few years ago by Remscheid-based company Klostermann Messtechnik for Deutsches Röntgen Museum. Incidentally, both are partners of ours in Augmented Reality projects – togehter we brought the Nobel Prize winner to life.
In addition to the basic 3D printing, our task was to prepare the scan data for a transparent, printable model with a size of approx. 40 cm to visually enrich #Kurfüstendamm.
We think the result on #Kudamm is a sight to behold and a new eye-catcher on Berlin’s boulevard.
